Flowy chat inside the After Effects panel

Chat with an agent that builds your comp

Describe what you want and the Flowy agent builds and animates compositions in your project. Every change is a single undo step, and anything that spends credits waits for your approval.

Sync with Flowy inside the After Effects panel

Sync with Flowy

Pull a Flowy composition into After Effects, edit on the timeline, and push your changes back. Syncing is live and conflict-safe, so you choose what wins when both sides moved.

Questions

Before you install

The short answers about running Flowy inside After Effects. Still stuck? See what shipped.

Which versions of After Effects work?

After Effects 2024 (version 24.0) or newer, on macOS 11 or later (Apple silicon and Intel) or Windows 10 or later (64-bit).

Which tools are included?

Generation from a prompt, a comp frame or a layer, an agent chat that builds and animates compositions, Draw to Edit, Sync with Flowy, your workspace Library and a grid of one-click quick tools.

How does sign-in work?

Open the panel and choose Sign in. It takes you through your normal Flowy sign-in in the browser and brings you back to After Effects with your workspace connected.

Do I need an account, and what does it cost?

You need a Flowy account. The After Effects plugin runs on the credits in your Flowy workspace, the same credits the web app uses, so there is nothing separate to buy. Plans and credit packs are on the pricing page. See pricing

Where do my results go?

Results come back into After Effects, and they are also saved to your Flowy library, so you can find them again on the web, on the canvas or in any other plugin.

Does it need an internet connection?

Yes. Generation and the one-click tools run on Flowy, so After Effects needs to be online to sign in, spend credits and bring results back.

Are my files used to train models?

What After Effects sends to Flowy is handled under the same terms as the rest of Flowy. The privacy policy is the source of truth for how content is stored and used. Read the privacy policy

Can I use the results commercially?

Commercial use follows your Flowy plan, exactly as it does on the web. Check the plan you are on and the terms for the details. Read the terms

I already have the Flowy panel. What happens when I install this?

The installer updates it in place. Your sign-in, workspace and agent permission carry over on first launch, and your docked panel layout keeps working.

The panel does not appear. What should I do?

On macOS, Control-click the installer and choose Open, then Open again. On Windows, choose More info and Run anyway. If the panel does not appear after restarting After Effects, reinstall and look under Window › Extensions › Flowy.
